Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:1-3
Everybody in Hebrews 11 received a Word from God, then acted on the Word from God and changed the world. Faith comes only from having heard from God in scripture and through the Holy Ghost.
Too many Christians think God is Santa Claus, or they think that a certain amount of flamboyance or charisma is necessary to hear and receive. The only thing that matters is learning how to get a Word from God through faith. One Word from God will change your life forever. One Word from God calls a man in the middle of a storm to get out of a boat, walk on the water, and defy nature's laws.
When God first called me into the ministry, I understood two things to be true before I started. I knew I needed to hear from God about where to go, and I knew I needed to have a Word from God in my mouth to deliver. I sought a Word from God for months after God called me into the ministry.
Every day, I would pray, “If I will seek Him, I will find Him. If I keep knocking, he will open the door. He will give me a revelation.” And He did. My ministry started quickly when I was young because I was doing what God said. There is no other reason. If He didn't say it, I didn't do it.
When people ask, “Will you pray for me?” I ask them what scriptures they are standing on. You must have a Word from God, because I am no one special. In fact, I can't even speak clearly without the anointing. Everything begins with God's Word.
