These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you.
John 16:25-26
Here you are, Son or Daughter of God, washed in the blood of Jesus. You come expecting to receive. You have no holiness, in and of yourself. You have no power, and no standing. But you are in Christ, and you have His standing."
Jesus said, "When you stand at the throne and ask, I will turn to the Father and will finish the job for you." That standing was given to you as a gift because God loves you. Jesus stands ready to implore God on your behalf, and the Father says, "Yes I'll answer that request."
People don't receive answers at times because they aren't sure of their standing. They look at who they are and listen to what other people say. They have not developed their faith to the degree that when they come before Him they take advantage of the grace that's offered all the time.
"Lord, this is too big," I've heard people say. Or, "I believe God for this, but I don't believe God for that. It's just too much." God can meet every need! He has something all the time for what you need.
